The following warranty is reproduced word for word from the originals that were included with scales that we received from the manufacturer in late October 2003. The original also included Dutch, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish translations... I don't have the time!
FIVE YEAR LIMITED CONSUMER WARRANTY
TO THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER OF THE PRODUCT- For a period of five (5) years from the original purchase date, this GPTM product is warranted as a consumer product to the original consumer purchaser.
- This GPTM product is warranted against defective materials and workmanship only. This warranty does not cover batteries or AC adaptors. This warranty is void if the product has been damaged due to misuse, unreasonable use, neglect, accident, internal calibration tampering, improper and unauthorized service or other causes not arising out of defects in materials and/or workmanship.
- Any implied warranties arising out of this sale, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability and appropriateness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the above (5) five-year period. The above warranty is the exclusive remedy for the consumer. GPTM shall not be liable for loss of use of the product or other incidental or consequential costs, expenses, or damages incurred by the consumer or any other user. Note that this warranty gives the consumer specific legal rights - which vary from state to state and/or country to country.
- During the above (5) five-year warranty period, if the product fails to work properly when used under normal conditions we will repair, or at our discretion, replace the product. The consumer is responsible for the expense of shipping the defective product to GPTM. GPTM is responsible for the cost of returning the repaired or replaced scale to the consumer.
- To obtain warranty service, return the defective scale in its original packaging, enclosed in another shipping container. Proof of purchase must accompany all rerturned products in order to verify date of purchase. Please thoroughly clean all products before shipping. We will not service any scales with substances left on them. Contaminated scales will promptly be destroyed and no refund will be issued.
