Iweigh 1000 by Gram Precision
The following instructions are reproduced word for word from the original instructions that were included with scales that we received from the manufacturer in late October 2003.

Please read complete instructions before use.

Iweigh 1000 Digital ScaleThis fully electronic computerized load cell scale is operated with a 9V alkaline battery or a 9V DC output AC adaptor.

ATTACHING THE WEIGHING PLATE

Place the weighing plate into the opening on the top of the scale. Carefully turn it clockwise until it locks into place.

Battery Insertion:
  1. Turn the scale upside down. Remove battery compartment cover by pressing the tab towards the cover and lift it off.

  2. Connect a fresh 9V alkaline battery to the provided battery snap.

  3. Put the battery back into the battery compartment and replace the cover.
To Use AC Adaptor:
  1. Your scale can also be operated on mains current by means of a 9V DC output AC adaptor with a negative center.

  2. Connect the adaptor plug to the receptacle located at the right side of the scale. Then plug the AC adaptor into the wall socket.

  3. The scale is now ready to use.
To Operate Scale:
  1. The scale must be placed on a flat surface in a sheltered area.

  2. By pressing the "ON/TARE" key once, the scale will commence operating.

  3. Once the scale is switched on a "8.8.8.8" will appear, which means the scale is now adjusting to zero. Do not place any objects on the glass until zero appears.

  4. When zero appears the scale is ready to use.

  5. Now place the object onto the glass plate and you will obtain the weight instantly.

  6. The scale will switch off automatically after remaining idle for 2 minutes.
Tare Function:
  1. The function has been specially designed for weighing substances that require to be put into a container when weighing, e.g. powder, liquid etc. By following the operating procedure (1) to (5) in the "To Operate Scale", you will obtain the weight of the empty container.

  2. Whilst the scale is in operation with the container on the glass plate, press the "ON/TARE" key and the display will return to zero, eliminating the weight of the container.
To Switch Weighing Modes:
  1. Turn scale off.

  2. Gently flip scale over making sure platter is secure.

  3. Under the scale you will see a sliding switch - adjust switch to desired weighing mode.

  4. Place scale back to original position - turn on - and weigh in the new mode selected.
Caution:
  • Place the scale in a sheltered area when in use as air movement and breathing on the scale will affect the accuracy.

  • Always place object onto the glass plate gently. Do not weigh objects that exceed the full capacity as this may permanently damage the sensor. An "E" will appear on the display if the scale is overloaded.

  • The battery must be replaced when the symbol "LO" appears on the display when the scale is switched on.

  • These electronic scales are precision instruments. Avoid disturbing environmental conditions such as currents, vibrations, strong electrical and magnetic fields as well as rapid change of the ambient temperature.
