Online Instruction Manual
Nex Gen 200 by Gram Precision
The following instructions are reproduced word for word from the original english instructions that were included with scales that we received from the manufacturer in late October 2003. The original also included Dutch, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish translations... I don't have the time!

Instruction Manual XGen200.

FX-100 Digital ScaleNote: if "E" appears instead of "F" this indicates calibration error has occurred and the calibration process should be repeated. "E" can occur if you have not followed the calibration steps in the correct order or due to an incoreect calibration weight being applied.

EL Backlight:

To operate the EL backlight, press the [] symbol located on the top of lens display. It will stay on for 6-8 seconds.

Note: As this scale is an accurate electronic instrument, please avoid vibrations, strong electrical or magnetic fields, or rapid changes in humidity or temperature when weighing.

Batteries:

The Xgen uses four AAA batteries. To install simply remove both battery case covers and insert the battery with the negative (-) side of the battery in contact with the spring. Replace the battery case covers and you are now ready to start weighing! Please note, do not use excessive force in either removing or replacing the battery covers.

Weighing:
  1. Always let the scale warm up for 20 seconds or so after turning on, before using.
  2. Turn the scale on by pressing the ON key.
  3. As the scale turns on, the display will appear for 2 seconds, and will set itself to zero.
  4. To change the readout of the scale between grams (g) and ounces (oz), troy ounces (ozt) and penny weights (dwt), press the UNIT/CAL key until the pointer shows the required unit.
  5. Do not place more than the capacity of the scale on the weighing platform, or the scale will read E. If the capacity of the scale is exceeded too many times, it may become damaged permanently: This is considered abuse, and is not covered by the warranty.
  6. To reset the scale to zero to accomodate the tray, or another weighing container, put the tray on the weighing platform, wait for the readout to stabilize, and press the ON/ZERO/OFF key. The other way is to place the tray on the platform before turning the scale on, and it will read zero automatically.
  7. If the weighing container is removed after being zeroed, the scale will read a negative value. Press the ON/ZERO/OFF key again to return the scale readout to zero.
  8. To turn off the scale, press the ON/ZERO/OFF key and hold for about 3 seconds.
Calibration:
  1. Turn the scale on and allow it to stabilize for 30 seconds. Press and hold the "UNIT/CAL" key for 4 seconds, the display will read "CAL" then display calibration weight. Place the correct calibration weight gently on the tray top.
  2. When calibration is complete the unit will briefly display "F". After 3 seconds in displaying "F", auto shut off power.
