VX-120 by Vector Scales
The following instructions are reproduced word for word from the original instructions that were included with scales that we received from the manufacturer in late October 2003. The original also included Dutch, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish translations... I don't have the time!

Please read the following instructions before use.

VX-120 Digital ScaleCapacity / Accuracy:

VX 120 120g/0.1g

Power Source:

One (1) "AA" Alkaline battery

Battery Insertion:
  1. Turn the scale upside down.
  2. Remove battery compartment cover by pushing the tab toward the cover. Lift cover off.
  3. Insert one "AA" alkaline battery into battery compartment making sure that the negative side of the battery is in contact with the spring.
  4. Replace the battery cover.
  5. The scale is ready for use
Note: Do not use excessive force in removing or replacing the battery compartment cover.

Operation:
  1. Place scale on flat surface in sheltered area.
  2. Press the "ON" key to turn the scale on.
  3. Allow scale to stabilize for at least thirty seconds.
  4. When initially turned on, the scale will read "8888" before returning to zero.
  5. The scale is ready for use when the display has returned to zero.
  6. Gently place the object(s) to be weighed on the weighing tray.
  7. Wait for the reading to stabilize.
  8. Read weight.
  9. To change the readout of the scale between grams (g) and ounces (oz) press and hold the "MODE" key.
  10. To reset the scale to zero to accomodate the tray or another weighing container, put the tray on the platform, wait for the readout to stabilize, and then press the "ZERO" key. This may also be done automatically by placing the tray on the weighing platform before turning the scale on. The readout will automatically read zero, compensating for the weight. To erase this calibration, simply press the "ZERO" key again. Note: When tray is removed from the platform when a customized calibration is set the scale will read out a negative number. Press the "ZERO" key to erase this.
  11. Press the "ON" key to turn the scale off. Note: This product also comes with an auto-off function and will turn itself off after approximately 30 seconds of inactivity.
Caution:

Do not place more than the capacity of the scale on the weighing platform. Excessive weight will overload the scale and cause the display to read 'E'. Abuse of this type can damage the scale and void the warranty.

Important Points to Keep in Mind:

Avoid lengthy exposure to extreme heat or cold. To achieve optimum functioning, allow this unit to acclimate to a normal room temperature before use.

Allow scale a minimum of thirty seconds to warm up before calibration to allow internal components to stabilize.

Keep this product clean. Dust, dirt, and moisture can adversely affect the reliability and accuracy of this scale.

Vibrations, air currents and proximity to other electronic equipment may affect the accuracy of this product. Avoid disturbing the environmental conditions when weighing. Be sure weighing is done with scale on a flat surface in a sheltered area.

Handle with care. Although this product is durable, rough treatment may permanently damage the internal sensor. Keep scale in protective case when not in use.

Remember to replace batteries regularly.
